Detectives from the Scarsdale Police Department were dispatched to a Church Lane home at approximately 4:30 p.m. on July 15 to investigate an alleged burglary. Police said that upon arrival, they found all the doors to be secure.

They noted that “a visual inspection of the resident’s windows showed all to be closed, and no signs of criminal activity was present.”

Later that day, the homeowner reported that when he returned home and checked his home due to an alarm going off, his wife said that several pieces of jewelry were missing.

Further investigation into the incident found that the suspect potentially entered through an unsecured second story bathroom window and began removing the items when an alarm went off. He then allegedly exited from the same window.

The incident is under investigation. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.
